After the long row containing twenty three draws finally one member of our team got the significant win. Petr Boukal beat his opnent from Australia cogently and all team congratulates him very strongly. In todays correspondence chess is necessary to sacrifice a lot of strenghts and before all a lot of time for every win.

151 games from total 312 games is finished, what meant 48%. Our team is playing the half of games still and we hold the seventh place now. On the top of the table is another Czech team Břevnov

Champions League started on 25. January 2010. The thirteen best clubs four players teams take part here. Very quick was finished the first game, but noét with draw result. The Italy player Riccio (Blue Team) won against Shinke (Rostock).

All players has the start list for tournament Champions League. In this Club World Championship ALFA will try to win between the best 13 fourplayers teams of the world. In the last year the team Dufek, Moučka, Sedláček, Michálek missed the third place for half point only and got the fours place. It is the paradox, that the teams placed between 6. and 13 place will leave this A league and must try in next season in B league to get back. The tournament CL/2010/A will start on 25.01. 2010 on web server, the moves will be transfered in the most modern way. Our fans can follow our results on this web in part Table soon.

The start of four season Champions League is close to. The origin group of ALFA team was: Sváček, Moučka, Boukal, Michálek. But our captain from the last season Michálek have the serious health problems and he cannot take part in this season. We wish the quick recovery to him.

From the last season team Jiří Moučka stayed only, Pavel Sváček played two first seasons and now is coming back again, Jiří Vošahlík a Petr Boukal are the new one players in ALFA. We are curious for the start list, even if we have some ideas concerning our opponents. We will play against Czech Team Břevnov Knights, which qualified themself to A league very sovereingly. The probable group Of this team will be: Michal Tocháček, Kamil Stalmach, Petr Makovský, Pavel Makovský. We wish them great success, but however not in games against us.

 Pavel Sváček is coming back to team after two years again. He celebrated 54 years on 23. December 2009.

Alfa team has aended its participation in the 3rd year of the Champions League winning on the 3rd chessboard where the game Oldřich Sedláček (2471) ALFA - Piero Alderisio (2410) Blue Team ended in a win of our player. On individual chessboards We have gained the following number of points: Jiri Dufek 6,5, Jiri Moucka 5, Oldrich Sedlacek 4,5 a Miroslav Michalek 5. We are keeping the fourth place in the running chart now, however we might even get the fifth place, which is pretty enough for us to keep ourselves in the competition and save our participation in the finals even in the following year of the competition which is to be open on January 15, 2010.

This result hasn't brought any changes in the position of our team in the running chart where we are still holding the 4th place.

Being the first from our team, Jiri Dufek, keeping the first chessboard, has ended all of his games. The last result is: Jiri Dufek (2568) ALFA - Semen Uscherovich Pinkovetsky (2543) Bashkir Chess 1-0. Thus Jirka got 6.5 points out of 10 games and so he fulfilled both the SIM and GM norm. A little bit in advance, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) gave a nice gift to Oldrich Sedlacek for his 46th birthday he will celebrate on Saturday, 9th August. Thanks to his excellent performance in Gordic Jihlava (1st league) and Chess Club Caissa Trebic (2nd league) Oldrich reached rating 2333 and he was awarded FIDE Master (FM). On 1st Sept 2007 the first moves opened already 3rd year of Champions League. We are the only Czech team in the finals of this competition. Our formation made up of IM Jiří Dufek (2568), SIM Jiří Moučka (2515), SIM Oldřich Sedláček (2471) a SIM Miroslav Michálek (2460) has the second highest ELO and therefore it should aspire to the front position.
